The Inside Story

The Breitling Navitimer is undoubtedly one of the most iconic timepieces in the world of horology, especially within the realm of pilot watches!

At hand is a 1960s reference 806 with an uncommon dial variant, the so-called “twin jet.” The 41mm case remains in nice condition, featuring a serrated bezel, and the black dial with silver subdials is also in excellent condition, with the lume darkened over time. At the 12 o’clock position, you'll find the distinctive “twin-plane” wings logo—introduced in 1967 by legendary Formula 1 drivers Jim Clark and Graham Hill. The pair apparently discovered that the Navitimer’s computational features were just as valuable for motor racing as they were for aviation!

The watch comes on a beautiful Bulang & Sons strap, and the Venus Caliber 178 has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.

This is Breitling’s icon—if it’s good enough for F1 drivers and pilots, it can’t be the wrong choice, right?
