Universal Geneve were the official watches of Scandinavian Airline Systems and they approached Gerald Genta, early in his career, to design a watch to commemorate their new route that went over the North Pole.
Having designed new navigation systems to cope with the extreme magnetic fields, they also wanted a watch with anti-magnetic properties.
This is a great looking dress watch in superb condition from one of the world’s finest watch manufacturers. The 35mm steel case has interesting twisted lugs and remains in excellent condition. The cream dial with crosshair feature has a nice silver outer track, that’s a bit like a bezel, and is in flawless condition. The calibre 218-2 movement features a micro-rotor and is finished to the very highest standard and has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
