The vintage Rolex Explorer is one of the most elegant and understated watches from the brand’s sports line. The elegance does not, however, undermine the watches absolute tool watch appeal. We are delighted to offer this original owner Explorer reference 1016 in stunning and original condition. The lume on the 3-6-9 is still very clean and it matches the hands perfectly. The gilt lettering is in unmarked condition and it sits within the glossiest black dial…like pool of crude oil! The case is in outstanding condition and we have left it exactly as found. The case back bears the infamous VI.66 misprinted date stamp and the original rivet bracelet has a ‘67’ stamp on the clasp. Everything matches on this watch and highlights how honest and original it is – even down to the lightly engraved initials of the owner on the clasp. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker and we will include a Bulang and Sons leather strap of your choice.*
