Strap Guide – The Omega Calatrava Oversized
Welcome to the Bulang and Sons Strap Guide. Our aim is to showcase some of our most popular straps on a range of iconic watches so you can see how the different combinations work.
The Spider Leg Omega
The 1950s was a time when small was beautiful in the watch world; a time not so very long after pocket watches had been adapted to be worn as wristwatches and manufacturers were striving to make the small watches that were so fashionable. At a time when the average watch size was 32mm there were experiments with big, oversize pieces by brands like Omega.
Here we have a 37mm Omega Calatrava with so-called ‘spider leg’ lugs…certainly not one for the arachnophobes! With relief print arabic namers, large size sub-seconds dial and painted logo, this watch oozes classic lines in a watch that is pleasantly big by modern standards. Equally at home on one of our classy 19mm edge stitched elegant leather straps as it is on a more rugged side stitch vintage leather, this a watch that will always be ready for wrist action. Please enjoy our selection of straps that we feel makes this spider really bite!
